Teaching is more than a career. it is a divine call. Having been a student of Daystar University pursuing a Bachelor of Education, I have come to understand that faith and education are inseparable. My entry into the education sector has not only been fueled by academic ambition but also by spiritual conviction that I am walking in purpose.
Having grown up in a household where my mother a praying teacher and woman of God—demonstrated both excellence and humility, I learned early on that teaching is a holy trust. Her pre-class prayers, affection for students, and unflappable faith in God's wisdom taught me that faith is the soil of authentic education.
To me, the classroom is a calling. Every lesson is an opportunity to bring life, to nurture growth, and to follow the love of God. Whether I am providing instruction on a concept or helping a struggling student, I feel every opportunity is a way to serve. Faith gives me the patience to persevere, the wisdom to discern, and the courage to lead ethically.
Teaching is not without its crosses, some days are frustrating, doubting, and weary. But faith reassures me that I never walk alone. In weakness, I rely on prayer. In triumphs, I give thanks. My walk of faith sustains me, reminding me daily that every child I encounter is fearfully and wonderfully made, to be respected and afforded opportunity.
As I continue my education at Daystar University, I am being taught not just how to be a teacher, but a vessel of hope. I want to teach in places where faith and education walk hand in hand and mold lives. I feel that if we teach from the heart and lead from the faith, we create classrooms that not only nourish the minds but the hearts.
