The School of Education at Daystar University is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of exceptional educators, curriculum developers, and education leaders. The School takes great pride in producing highly skilled professionals committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community service. The preparation of our graduates is grounded in rigorous scholarship, practical classroom experience, and a holistic approach to education rooted in a firm biblical foundation and the liberal arts tradition. The School of Education aims to equip students to grow spiritually and intellectually, enabling them to serve as agents of transformation in their professions and provide Christ-centered servant leadership in the school, home, church, and society. The School of Education endeavours to train teachers who will serve humanity with excellence, dedication, empathy, fairness, and understanding. The academic programs are well integrated with Christian principles. The School strives to produce teachers with Christian values. The School has very highly qualified staff ready to guide students through their learning experience.
The School offers programmes in Bachelor of Education (B.ED) Arts, Bachelor of Education (B.ED Sc), Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), Master of Education in Leadership and Policy (M.ED LP), Master of Education (M.ED), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D). The B.ED Arts programme is offered in a variety of subject combinations involving Languages (English, Literature, Kiswahili, German, Spanish, and Chinese), Christian Religious Education (CRE), History, Geography, Business Studies, Accounting, and Mathematics. The B.ED Science programme involves combinations of Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Agriculture. Other subjects are under development and will be added to the list. Both B.ED Arts and B.ED Science programmes are open to candidates who meet the university entry criteria either as direct entry candidates or as transition students (with a diploma in Education).
The PGDE Programme is offered to candidates who have a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Bachelor of Science degree, or any other non-teaching degree. However, the candidates must have at least two teaching subjects recognized by the Teachers Service Commission (or its successor). This programme is offered largely as a part-time programme throughout December, April, and August.
The M.ED LP is a programme geared towards training leaders who will make a difference in management and policy formulation in the education sector. The M.ED programme has options in Curriculum Development, Educational Foundations, and Communication & Technology. The programme aims at deepening knowledge in these particular areas. Both M.ED LP and M.ED are offered through course work and thesis.

The Ph.D represents the pinnacle of learning in the field of education. Candidates may choose to specialize in an area of their interest. This is open to candidates with a Masters degree.
